nope, that was one of the french teachers, plus it was a lady latin teacher. the latin & classics teachers were by far the coolest in the whole school

all excellent points, very strong points.Cortina Mk3s are cool.
Also one of the old Toyotas - I think it's the '84 Corolla but couldn't swear on it - this one anyway, beneath the dog:

Modern cars are just unsightly bubbles, what happened to edges?
Aren't Lamborghinis just a pile of shit that break down every 2 weeks, and you have to be shorter than 5 ft 9 to fit into them?
I don't actually hold a licence, by the way.
rented a Buick Regal for a SoCal biz trip back in the day. for once, they made a sporty model, that fucker could move. picked it up in San Diego, tooled up the Pacific Coast Highway to LA and then Santa Barbara.Buick were the most consistent shit heaps I saw across nearly a decade in the US
yes i'd always understood that the change came when cars started to be designed in a wind tunnel, for aerodynamic optimisation, but when i looked it up recently that goes back to 1920 or something.I hate the way car designs all became very rounded a number of years ago, makes them all look the same. compare to that Buick Regal I posted above, which has has nice angles. old Mercedes-benz models have the look too. and that Lincoln continental.
by this i mean none of them were pervs, pedos, sadists, bullies, alkies, tragic broken-down failures of life, child-haters or general misanthropes, just quite relaxed people who were into greece and rome and were glad if you took an interest too.nope, that was one of the french teachers, plus it was a lady latin teacher. the latin & classics teachers were by far the coolest in the whole school
anyway what i find with people i know who like or are into cars is that they don't talk much about the curves, lines, clean aesthetics of the chassis, they tend to talk more about the handling, the acceleration, etc. these are the aesthetic factors for them, i'd say, after all who really needs to go from 0 to 60 in 0.8 seconds
Is that right? I thought the phrase "zero emissions" is supposed to also refer to sounds... no air pollution or sound pollution. There's EU rules to make artificial sound in electric cars I believe. I'd install a Ford Mustang sound in a Tesla as a preset for sure.
Did you see that picture of Rushford etc turning up for training the other day? It looked like an armed battalion arriving at Carrington.View attachment 8009View attachment 8010
