this is the big thing everyone has been doing over lockdown. i did the 30 day challenge and now ive moved onto yoga camp. im on day 10 and the matra is
'i am present'.
you can do it with me if you like. i will start in 5 minutes time then we can all talk about it after.

Hope you enjoy it tho, I could be tempted next time. We should all do it on zoom together. We'd probably need to do a seppuku session straight after mind

that was a hard episode. dont feel good about myself after that. all sweaty and claustrophobic and frustrated.

my wife's been doing the Adrienne things, gone through two of the 30-day session I think. she likes when the dog wanders into camera view.
I was doing those ones, i quite liked them even though i fall over very easily - my wife says she hasn't got the dog anymore - she's got a new partner and she didn't get to keep the dog or something

this was a good one
i really like the bit at 2.10 where you rock back and forth and as jenks says, fall over a lot.

one of the many things that seeds and promotes doubt and insecurity in this yoga stuff is all the thousand different ways you can arrange yourself when doing something as simple as lying 'flat on your back.' what is the right way to lie on your back? no one has really addressed this for me. all the bones of back and arse and hips and shoulders. yogs is full of this anxiety. how do you stand up tall? are you doing it right? almost certainly not.

these yoga camp ones are pitched a little above my level so i always have to sit some of them out which leads me to have what Adriene calls 'toxic thoughts' but i've started, so i'll finish. today''s matra is 'i am open' and i invite you all to join me in today's practice.

oh no, i've just realised i've tried this one before and had to give up in despair. this will be a struggle.

why i like yoga is that it's all about intense discomfort, frustration and humiliation. it's about being violently aware of your own limits. having your face rubbed into it. your own weakness and inadequacy. constantly reminded of it. there;s never any moment where it clicks. there's never any sense of satisfaction or acheivement. there is only ever failure and frustration.

i think this is the first time in my life i've really stuck with something i have no aptititude for at all and not had a temper tantrum and smashed everything to pieces or just stopped trying. ive always had enough things im a brilliant genius at that i could take refuge in thhose things and call everything else a waste of time.
