Yoga with Adriene

I’ve just been doing that dog head down pose with my mum. Apparently I’m really good at everything that doesn’t involve hamstrings

i'm bad at everything so don't brag please it will tip me into the bleakest despair.

that was a hard episode. dont feel good about myself after that. all sweaty and claustrophobic and frustrated.

I can only take so much instruction before feeling claustrophobic. I either want to start making up my own bits or stop

i think this is the first time in my life i've really stuck with something i have no aptititude for at all and not had a temper tantrum and smashed everything to pieces or just stopped trying. ive always had enough things im a brilliant genius at that i could take refuge in thhose things and call everything else a waste of time.

I have to admit, I half suspected you were taking the piss when you started this thread, mocking the whole yoga-and-sourdough bread lockdown ritual. it's oddly gratifying to understand that it's real, kudos.

thanks ~Leo but I'm actually a very earnest and straightforward person. i hope i can inspire other middle aged men such as my old friend Craner to roll out the mat.

I started doing this the other day and found it helpful, not really fussed about doing the actual yoga though.

these hokey affirmations are really getting to me lately. penetrating deep into my molten core. really recommend that one. you start with 'alternate nostril breathing' which i've mnot encountered in any of her videos before.

i don't want to see other people doing things i cant do. i find i can tolerate my own inadequacy provided no one rubs my face in it.

I'm really competitive and I'd struggle if I thought someone was progressing faster than me, but I dont think I'd mind if I didn't know anyone.

i might study by myself for ten years then go to a beginners class once i've learned to levitate.
