Did Kraftwerk invent techno as we know it today?

I dunno I don't really care about club djs. I'm more interested in the DiY techno scene these days. I'll check out a Dax J set on occasion or a Kyle Hall/Jay Daniel one but my interests are more experimental these days. I think after a while if you don't go clubbing keeping up with the daily comings and goings of the scene is just not worth it.

I'm sure this has been posted on here plenty of times but here it is again. Doesn't say that acid really came from India either. It does show how much technology can define musical decisions and the overall sound though.
