Reducing the Input

That kind of analytical state is exhausting to maintain so it's never a default mode. It takes energy to maintain. But you can adopt it as an attitude towards any object or event or experience

It's interesting. I think as I say the primary purpose of these things is to create trance but they do make good corpses to dissect if you're that way inclined. Music is the same. Some people get furious if you dare to subject music to any kind of intellectualisation. How dare you! You're supposed to feel it man!

That feeling is related to the observation made By someone here on bodily discomfort that comes from too much time within the smoothness and velocity of cyberspace, it makes the body feel more ugly and disjointed and awkward in slow space

Yeah but that's not the distinction I'm trying to make. I'm not not of those types who claim that subordination to intellectual thinking or language for that matter ruins the whole experience being described. It's a different distinction.

I'm trying to say that all types of real creative intellectual thinking stems not from juggling around concepts but from flashes of intuition. That the real thinker is like an artist in that sense.

It's like when we talk about not wanting to use jargon of academic disciplines because it's stale and boring. The sense of detachment from intuitive knowledge.

What’s a real thinker? Am I one? Let me be one please

I had a thread about this cos Mark was always calling himself a real thinker and the rest of us as people who weren't doing proper thought. My guess is you are not doing proper thought. I wanted to know what proper thinking consisted of cos I couldn't even imagine what it might feel like

I started doing this a few days ago: ditched Reddit, ditched the news, started speaking to people less and less, stopped reading reviews or any sort of commentary on anything and only paid attention to whatever I was actually doing and what was happening in my immediate environment. It's much nicer tbh. I now wonder what I ever saw in looking up what people are saying about something.

I wouldn’t over isolate for mental health reasons, but fully empathise.

An uncluttered life is a solid, realistic, noble and achievable goal. Who needs ‘news’ that’s more like McDonalds, opinion, influencers, small talk etc? Endless distractions. This creates space to let more and more flashes of intuition in, as was described above. That’s the voice of a personal god worth worshipping for its varied input alone. Ideas, creativity and flow states emerge, just hope that doesn’t sound too meditative for meditation’s sake alone. It’s the frequencies of bandwidth that your mind doesn’t need that are the most prevalent and insidious in today’s world, from work to personal time.
