The other big books I have lying around are Europe Central, Don Quixote, Underworld, The Magic Mountain, The Golden Bough, The Brothers Karamazov, J R, Against the Day, A Thousand Plateaus, Moby-Dick and Making Noise: From Babel to the Big Bang and Beyond.

Have you finished any of these yet?

I tend to read a few shorter ones between and during big ones. I cba to read big book after big book.

i actually lost wolf solent the day after i bought it in wolf solent but i have another copy now it's really good.

i was in dorchester today partly in homage to the Great Man. as i was walking down the street a man was opening his book shop so i said got any powys and he said, yeah loads come and have a look so i got 4 new ones off him. he loved me cos he hasnt met a reader in years being out there in dorchester. then i went to maiden castle.

i saw a book of letters from powys to g. wilson knight. he's telling knight he should use his platform to promote masturbation, that he could do a great deal of good that way. he says if jack the ripper had a wank he wouldn't have ripped. i didn't buy it but i did buy the saturnian quest, knight's study of powys.
