yes it does. you need to keep reminding yourself that it is only temporary. that it is necessary in fact to destroy everything in order to be able to enjoy regeneration. there is no summer without winter. that, or move closer to the equator.

Autumn is the shit. Most inspiring and creative time imo. Take all that stored energy from the previous 4/5 months and convert it into powerful art, baby!

I thought you'd love Spring given your winters are 30 below zero

The wind is screaming and it’s not even September.

Previous 2 summers we were still metaphorically melting late August. Can’t say I miss those runs of 35degree brutality.

I do. But when on a small island in the North Atlantic the forecasts might as well be plucked out a hat or tombola

true. I was always envious of weather forecasters on the news, it's the only job in the world where you can be wrong over and over and it doesn't seem to matter. who ever heard of a forecasting getting fired because he said it was going to be nice but then it ended up raining?

and they also hedge their bets: "20% change of rain today". covering all your bases, can't lose with that forecast...probably going to be a nice day but on the outside chance it rains, you can say "ha, see? I told you there was a chance of rain!" fuckers.

then the ones in Southern California can get away with the same forecast every day: "72 and sunny".
