it's about 35 degree cooler than it was 10 days ago. think we've turned the corner on summer, highs only expected in the upper 70s for the next seven days. hoodie evenings, sleeping with windows open because thank god no more need for a/c.

feels like we haven't had a good snow season in years. nothing but the sludgy muck the past few winters. i miss the snow.

It's not even snowing in Denmark these days? Last time we had snow here was in, I think it was 2012. Really heavy. Thick. Covered the streets for at least a week. I was away the year before but I think they had a lot of snow that year too. Haven't had anything like it since.

not we get these halfway winters, it's depressing. i remember it used to be like a month or more of solid snow carpets lighting up the world at night. really magical, but they're gone it seems.

we're getting 6-10 inches of snow on wed night/thurs morning, first one of the year. I'm going to start a conspiracy theory that it'll neutralize all the COVID germs, everything opens back up for Xmas!

now predicting 10-14 inches of snow, starting this afternoon and going until 1:00 pm tomorrow. If I succumb to a heart attack while shoveling, it's been nice virtually knowing you all.

I bloody love snow but am settling in for a standard southern English winter of endless rain.

I survived an hour of shoveling the sidewalk out front, drifts of about 18 inches in places. went out at 6:30 am when it was still dark outside, no one around, took my time. then came in, took a hot shower, eat breakfast...and then ate a second breakfast, what the hell, right? was actually quite enjoyable.

it's funny, we've always had the notion of the "snow day" being a day off because many people are unable to get to work, trains are delayed or cancelled, schools closed, etc. but now, a heavy snow is just another day of working or studying in front of your computer all day, no break from the usual.

I've been out on the bicycle last couple of days getting some air in the lungs and it's quite cold out there. Warming up this coming week though

If you find yourself getting chilly this winter make yourself a nice hot cup of tea, and dip your toes in it.
