Any psychic vocabulary of value that orients/centers itself around growth for its own sake, which is the logical conclusion of the movement from desiring-immediate-reward to desiring-ever-higher-but-ever-mediated-reward.

(edit: "psychic vocabulary of value" just meaning a value system)

The movement entails the sort of repression we can likely map about across metanarratives of modernity and whatnot. Repressing the instincts that steer you towards immediate reward, because you know the mediated reward will be much more satisfying.

This is what I mean when I describe the complexification of matter as capitalistic. Every order of magnitude could well have analog ontologies.

Getting fat seems to be the paradigmatic example here. Whether that is a complexity cation of matter is debatable but it is certainly growth. Ditto movements towards monopoly where you have an increase in size but no increase in complexity.

That could be one irruption of this instinct, perhaps through folded up and contorted layers of psychic repression. Probably something from the psychoanalysis pertains to this.

Another example of growth leading to less complexity would be what's happened in agriculture. Larger fields fewer crop varieties.

Growth as a rule you could easily argue leads to less and less complexity more consolidation more homogenisation more flattening

But that is an instance of a trend, I'm talking about trends of trends, at least I'm trying to. The larger fields/homogenization describes a certain equilirium according to the current of such forces, but that one equilibrium cannot be said to be accurately reflective of all others.

What gets more complex is the manner/scale at which things are organized, some aspects of which may involve certain equilibria here and there, having found balance in that particular situation.

Ecosystems also a lot less complex than they once were rainforest removed for growth replaced by grazing or food crops.

And the measure of organization is what transcends materiality. Techne would largely constitute the corporation of this deepening organization, with the psyche as the executive of the corporation.

Yeah that could be another example of an equilibrium reached within a certain system, a certain resting/stable state. The higher order systems are the ones who are, themselves, built from such lower order systems.

A certain balance of systems, certain ones in certain resting states/equilibria, each system functioning as an organ in a larger system. That is the complexification I have in mind.

I agree, but that can be managed, provided one stay diligent.

insane (adj.)1550s, of persons, "mentally damaged," from Latin insanus "mad, insane, of unsound mind; outrageous, excessive, extravagant," from in- "not" (see in- (1)) + sanus "well, healthy, sane" (see sane). In reference to actions, "irrational, evidencing madness," from 1842 in English. The noun meaning "insane person" is attested from 1786. For the notion of insanity as sickness, compare lunatic; and Italian pazzo "insane," originally a euphemism, from Latin patiens "suffering." German verrückt, literally past participle of verrücken "to displace," "applied to the brain as to a clock that is 'out of order' " [Buck].

It becomes less embarrassing, yet perhaps infinitely more frightening, when you contextualize a definition like that within a framework metric of normativity, and actually becomes less frightening when you consider that the metric established by normativity isn't as informed as the upper bound of "lunatics" who merely "exce[ed]" the boundaries laid out by the norms.

If a variety of lights are to be lit up at varying intensities, the ones that are brighter than the others will be seen as as wrong from those positioned as the average, although that isn't always evident consciousness. It was just a point about being excessively intensive, perhaps not being able to adjust to the average intensity, and how this unadjustedness is labeled as pathological, to be repressed.
