i suppose where this thread differs a little bit from version's one is that im interested in the light at the end of the tunnel element. im not thinking about going down into hades and all that. i'm thinking about the light and the funny feeling in there.

that sounds good (Kosturica made some great movies before he went wierd) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Underground_(1995_film)
but not the one i'm thinking of
Haha! "Not that Yugoslav war film set partially underground, the other one!"

Underground is great though, I'd love to see it again. There's a gypsy brass band who constantly show up and are always playing, even in the middle of a bombardment, and one of characters is a hard-as-fuck electrician who joins the resistance and is tortured by the Nazis using electricity, except he's so used to receiving shocks while working that it doesn't really bother him.

"The Squadrone Carabinieri Eliportato ‘Cacciatori Calabria’ during a night mission in the bathroom of a bunker house where a tunnel has been built. In order to avoid arrest, bosses live in hideouts measuring 10 sq metres in the southern Italian mountains. In the last 30 years, the Italian authorities uncovered more than 400 bunkers in Calabria, described by investigators as ‘works of superior engineering’"
