Yeah even the federal reserve banks in the US are still private organizations, and I'm inclined to believe that the regulations on them could afford to be tightened, i.e. their portfolios more closely monitored and restricted.

I would assume the major commercial banks operating in US would have chief compliance officers. And from what I can see the regulations are already quite extensive, e.g. risk disclosures to clients. The problem may be more that these financial institutions simply incorporate violation fees into the cost of doing business, but I don't know any of the details there.

As obligatory and predictable as this statement may be, blockchain could really provide novel mechanisms for accountability, but doing so would seem to enter into economic totalitarianism. Not sure how to parse out the prospects.

In any case, CityCoins are going to get more and more interesting.

Hey I wouldn't be surprised if that bottom one was real, if someone actually made that.

edit: just noticed the crane, so yeah I'd be a bit surprised if someone actually made that.

Does anyone here have, or have any experience dealing with, a single-member LLC? @Leo ?

I'm thinking about doing a Wyoming LLC, Clinamenic Consulting LLC, just as legal vehicle to limit personal liability. Pending further counsel/consideration, of course.

haven't read the thread but the idea that corporations are somehow more powerful than nation states seems mad.

I'm the worst at the stuff, unfortunately. been self employed for 20 years and never incorporated, probably should have done the LLC thing but I'm a lazy bastard.
