it's fascinating to me that somebody else could find this so interesting that "it could go on forever"

i wish we could swap brains for five minutes so i could hear what you're hearing

craner likes it apparently. sad!

It's not that I find it interesting, it's more to do with mood and atmosphere and locking into a groove. It's the kind of thing I can have looping and sink into, particularly at night.

I guess my need to find it "interesting" speaks to a fundamental emotional disengagement on my part. The music I love I love instinctively (though sometimes it might grow on me). How "interesting" it is doesn't factor into it.

It's good, after all, that we don't have the exact same taste. And especially when it comes to these top 100s. Craners one cleaved very close to my taste but it was still idiosyncratic and versions and thirds lists were less to MY taste but are expressive of a singular taste and philosophy that makes them fascinating and admirable.

Yeah, I think that comes when you're trying to find a way in. If it doesn't hit you then the gears start whirring in an attempt to think your way into a situation that's ideally felt.

Stuff can grow on you too, but the lightning bolt's what you want.

HATCHBACK CLASSIC. THE SOUND OF THE NORTH.

Something gothic about this one, listening back. Sounds like ghosts in an arcade machine and green slime. Cartoonish, but there's a melancholy to it. That trapped voice calling out to someone no longer there, doomed to loop. One of those weed guy hatchbacks driving round and round at night with no one behind the wheel.
