Pretty much everything by Coil. Hafler Trio, NWW, sections of Richard Kirk and Cabaret Voltaire. First time i heard this it was walking a tightrope with an abyss all around and through it

Further back and faster

Andrew Liles when he isn't banging on pots and pans is a master. There's a vast discography with fathoms of originality. Colin Potter's collaborations are a hive of quality. Diamanda Galas can take you there, too much to list.

I don't think any music meets these criteria as convincingly as today's autotuned heavily medicated rap and r&b. The covenant with Satan is audible there. It evokes the world of Vigilant Citizen. Monarch Sex Slaves. Blood pacts. Shadowy handlers. Mind control. It's the darkest and most darkly seductive music ever made.

Corpsey is talking about sinister bliss through drugs - the bad trip and good trip at once, feeling chemically induced euphoria in a sinister environment, or terror in a safe and happy one?

I'm talking about sinister bliss through sex - cassie me & u, aaliyah more than a woman, seduction and promises along with music that hints that you might get more than you can take

Well Cassie is designed to sound part sexbot part monarch sex kitten slave. Aaliyah has a voice which registers the trauma and frozen emotions of r Kelly sex slavery

and indulging in conspiracy theories gives a sinister bliss. A dopamine and adrenaline kick, a rush connecting the dots and connecting with others, building communities of believers

And of course there was a sinister bliss to rave, especially when I very young. Both thrilled and slightly afraid of nightlife, the alien music, drugs etc.. but the euphoria of it still translated

speaking of rave, this comes to mind. the vocals and flute fit perfectly with this theme imo. the shout you hear periodically (like @1:03) further hints at a darker energy under the surface.
