I didn't "get" r&b until I was in my 20s because I didn't understand truly the emotions you find in r&b. Like I could tell a song was horny or heartbroken or whatever but I couldn't relate. Well, I don't think relate is the right word - because it's a genre based on performance and demonstration, r&b is all outsize emotions that you can insert yourself into, whether its sexier than sex itself or sadder than sadness itself etc.

i felt this way when i had to dig the grass off an allotment. it was really backbreaking work. you first have to chop through the grass, then roll it off, then dig a foot of earth below that. took me all day and at one point when i raised the spade for the umpteenth time i felt transported back to a different time and place.

i just think we need to have a bit of a think on this because we lose a lot of good people. and not to harp on, but sometimes you have also chased people off a bit as well. so we could do with some kind of thing where we try stop it happening. i mean polystyle's gone now ffs.
