these are great write ups boxedjoy! loving them! do you keep a diary? i'm suprised how detailed all your stories are and how you are able to pinpoint them to certain years and periods of your life.

I've moved house every two years or less for the past five places I've lived and hopped my way around jobs so it's really easy for me to recall what was going on in my life at each point tbh. I've always toyed with the idea of keeping a proper blog, not just the LiveJournal account I had in the early 00s but an actual documentation of things I've been to, it's the failed critic in me

The Jackmaster thing, hmm. My understanding of it is that he was genuinely contrite and ashamed of his sleazy behaviour but the kettle story is a false rumour designed to make him seem funny and charismatic so that his misdemeanours could be handwaved away by people around him

Like if you follow his social media the comments from techbros are always around what a legend he is and how funny that story is. It makes me uneasy - he's went off the grid and done the work of cleaning up and apologising etc and I think it's sincere on his part... but there's still that crowd who think it's all overblown nonsense and the kettle story contributes to that sense of misinformation
