Everything is a conspiracy. But China have promised to make the whole world communist by 2050 so relax everything is under control.

capitalism is in the seventh heaven when there are wars.

Politicians are behaving exactly how they are meant to.

The prison industrial complex is working how it was designed to.

The police are better than ever.

We've never had it so good, for bourgeois dictatorship.

Beast of Burden
It's as bad as the people who take fascists at their word and don't see that they are a wholly modernist movement, but from the far right.

I think a very productive exercise would be to tap into as sincere an appreciation of these films as possible. Defy your cultured superego. Revel in the spectacle.

Where do you want to go?
Home.
Home? This is your home. You're dead.
Dead? No. I'm not dead.
What are you, then?
I'm alive.
Then what are you doing here?
I don't know.
Something's happening.
What IS happening?
Get me out of here.
There is no out of here. You've been killed, don't you remember?

“People in free societies don't have to fear the pathology of the state. We create our own frenzy, our own mass convulsions, driven by thinking machines that we have no final authority over. The frenzy is barely noticeable most of the time. It's simply how we live.”

Would be rather fitting if Trump's last act was to free a reality tv star who has been convicted of attempted murder.
Anyway, just seen this

"The mob was fed lies," Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said on the Senate floor. "They were provoked by the President and other powerful people."

Is that a sign that he is gonna vote for impeachment? Hard not to if he said that the day before you would think. Not that it matters that much but it will piss Trump off so that's good.

Anyway,
Two Fox News Executives Who Were Involved In The Election Nigh Call of Arizona For Biden Are Out
Network’s decision to call the state for Biden took the anchors by surprise and infuriated Donald Trump and his supporters
Two top news executives who were involved in the Fox News Channel’s election night decision to call Arizona for Democrat Joe Biden are out at the network.
Bill Sammon, senior vice-president and managing editor at Fox’s Washington bureau, announced his retirement to staff members on Monday. The following day, the politics editor Chris Stirewalt was let go as part of a restructuring of Fox’s digital operations.
Fox’s early Arizona call took the network’s anchors by surprise and infuriated the White House, which believed the determination was premature.
Watching the election night live, that was a very big moment cos, up to that point, it felt as though Trump was doing better than expected, he'd held Florida, Texas etc and I was beginning to have that nasty feeling in the pit of my stomach that I'd had last time around. Arizona being called for Biden was the first sign that Trump was gonna lose and it was hugely reassuring for me - but conversely it absolutely enraged Trump's team.
In fact, the Trump camp was reported as going into absolute paroxysms of fury about this. almost disproportionately so, and there were various stories the next day about which member of the Trump team phoned which exec at Fox to complain about it and demand that it was "un-called". What precisely happened at that point seems to be debatable, but one thing isn't; they were super mega pissed off about it.
And shortly after election night it became very clear as to why; behind the scenes revelations (along with Trump being so indiscreet on telly that anyone could work it out) mean we know pretty much the whole of what Trump's strategy to cheat in the election was. In a nutshell the aim was to encourage his voters to vote in person while Biden voters voted by mail, pass laws to ensure that mail-in votes were counted later than the votes in person, and then declare victory as soon as he was ahead, putting huge resources into legal challenges to throw out votes. This strategy of course relied on being ahead on the night, and after the Arizona call it became next to impossible.
At the time I was confused by the total disarray into which they were thrown; Eric Trump announced completely spuriously that they had won Pennsylvania to make up the lost votes but that was laughable (certainly for me, there was something so pleasurable about seeing these disgusting bastards who were used to being able to lie so hard that their supporters would make it true, lose their powers in that actual second). Even worse/funnier was Trump consistently saying "Stop the count" until someone pointed out to him that cos of AZ they were behind and if they stopped right then he would lose, so he had to change it to "Stop counting where I'm ahead and keep counting where I'm behind" - which still sounded reasonable to his supporters but was something of a red flag for those with a brain.
As we know now, the courts did stand firm and rejected every attempt to throw out votes that were counted later - in other words, they thought it was unfair to completely change the rules after the election had been held, strangely enough - and ultimately it wouldn't have mattered when Arizona was called.
But at the time when it happened it instantly and devastatingly wiped out the Trump cheating strategy. It's also interesting to me that it WAS a very early call from Fox, way before AP and others who had it as a neck and neck contest for another week or so. So yeah they were right - but were they right cos they truly knew it was decided, or were they right cos they made a guess that turned out to be the right one? Impossible to know with that kind of thing of course, but for me it's very interesting that the Trump cheating strategy - not the election itself obviously, but their actual plan itself was completely defeated relatively early on election night by this one, arguably slightly dubious call, from, of all places, Fox News.
As we know the right (as in the hardcore, barely in touch with reality low-info right) has had a falling out with Fox that - I think - began before that, but the Arizona call was the final nail in the coffin for many. Though presumably most of the hoi polloi would not have been privy to the actual cheating plan (and let's face it, many of them wouldn't have been able to grasp such a multifaceted and complex interlocking of wheels within wheels even if they had been told the secret - Trump seemingly couldn't anyhow) they must have seen how angry the Trump family was and taken that as the signal to all pile in on them.
So... here's a little conspiracy theorette of my own for you. WHAT IF a couple of high-ups in at Fox DID somehow come to learn of the fiendishly feeble-minded Trumpington plan, AND were capable of understanding it too? And WHAT IF they got this crazy notion in their head that they weren't one hundred percent happy with being roped into aiding and abetting HMGT's crush cheating his way straight back into the presidency and destroying American democracy as he did it?
Cos if there was someone who was able to control WHO Fox announced as state winner and - of particular import here - when they announced it, then announcing Arizona for Biden at that time would have been the perfect choice. Flawlessly selected in that it would have no effect on the election itself while at the same time it would completely annihilate the evil plan, leaving its progenitors in helpless impotus fury and with no-one to even direct it at and no recourse without their first revealing to the whole world that they had planned to cheat and the exact methodology they had planned to use.
OF course there is no real decisive evidence for this but I can categorically state beyond any tiny sliver of the smallest shadow of any doubt whatsoever, that this is categorically precisely what happened. And I love it.

Hannity said just said on his show tonight "Maybe it's time for a new Republican Senate leader."

So... what's with that? People have said that Hannity might like to run next time around I believe - but surely he's not dumb enough to think that loyalty to Trump will mean that Trump will one day when he needs it show loyalty to him?

Trump, speaking without a teleprompter, delivered brief remarks at Joint Base Andrews before boarding a flight headed to Florida.

After thanking his family and staffers, Trump began running down a list of his dubious achievements. “As the athletes would say, we’ve left it all on the field … you can’t work harder,” said the president, who golfed more than any previous president and spent much of his time at the White House engaged in “executive time.”

Trump referred to the pandemic in the past tense at one point, then said he wanted to give “great love” to all of the people who have suffered due to the “China virus.”

Trump never mentioned Biden by name, but he wished the new administration luck and predicted they will have “great success” – thanks in part to him. “They have the foundation to do something very spectacular,” Trump said. “We’ve put [the country] in a position like it’s never been before.”
