“The best genes.....”

It flips both ways. The checks and balances in place and supposed neutrality shouldn’t allow for such a move. With all the chaos flying round though, that’s where the doubt comes from, plus it could buy him some empathy like Blow Job here. If Harris performs well, the momentum could swing back. Something something something, unknown unknowns.

what about if he shakes it off by tomorrow? That would be strong potent dynamic
Wouldn't do him much good, since the only people who wouldn't see through it straight away are the ones who were going to vote for him anyway.

trump's built such a myth of being the invincible strongman warrior king, it goes entirely against his personal brand to fake being sick, which connotes weakness and vulnerability. I think it's real.
Yeah, I can't imagine his ego allowing him to fake it.

if he shook it off tomorrow, that would prove he's a fraud who faked it. has to give it at least a week or 10 days, by which point lots of people have already early voted.

his ego will probably also drive him to return to the campaign trail too soon, would do more harm than good to be out at events looking and sounding sick.

another issue is the White House brags about doing thorough testing all the time, but they do the rapid test, which I understand to be less thorough and accurate than the regular test.

This is my thoughts on the faking thing....
Getting ill makes him look reckless and it confirms that he was wrong to be dismissive of the virus... however if he gets better quickly it will make him look strong etc but will the gains of that outweigh the losses of the former? Hard to call. And when you consider that being ill means he can't rally, can't campaign etc and leaves him open to criticism if he does something that could infect people... plus, if he IS faking, he might get busted.
It doesn't seem worth it to me.

If he genuinely has it and survives, I hope he at least gets really bad diarrhea. The secret service standing outside the restroom with comedy farts going off every few seconds, pained moans from behind the door.

He's caught it a lot later than many politicians. He'll use HCQ/zinc, recover within a week and lord it over the lesser mortals over a long-covid period of time.

It's been a letdown so far. Johnson and Bolsorano both got it, neither one died or got so sick they had to leave office. Not really good enough in my opinion.

they aren't 74 years old and obese.

if the upper echelon of the Republican party all comes down with it - hoping 'n' secular-praying for everybody Barr none to catch it if not necessarily snuff it - it's got to put a crimp in their coup plans. They'll all be coughing and sniffling and lying in bed and "i can't be arsed with this coup business".

Just like the millions who have taken it for decades in Africa?
It's well documented to affect the heart - if you have a serious condition which HCQ can deal with then it might still be worth taking. As numerous studies have rejected any success against C19 it would seem rather reckless for a clinically obese, 74 year old, viagra gobbling, Adderall addict to stir into the mix so I rather hope he does.

Dems need to put biden in a literal bubble now, encased in one of Damian Hirst's vitrines with trice-purified air pumped in and occasional meals slipped in on a try before quickly slamming the lid shut. then they can load it onto the back of a flatbed truck and tour him around the country, waving at folks.

he's a life-long germaphobe, has never liked to shake hands and doesn't really interact like most people. certain never see him kissing babies on the campaign trial or give high-fives to people in the front row at rallies.
