Yeah, she's awful. The only argument for her and Biden is their opponents are the Republican party and Donald Trump.

That interview. She's laughing and crying and talking some mad kind of gibberish. Totally unhinged. Really weird.

politicians have to pretend to be fun and cool now

partially cos Obama but really cos that's just how celebrity culture is now, it all has to be interactive and engageable

or rather it has to feel that way

it's the same feeling you get watching movie stars in their 40s and 50s forced to do cute interactive videos like this

there's a whole cottage industry of that nonsense

movie stars can get away with it better tho cos movies are leisure, harmless, whatever and their whole job is to be professionally likeable

whereas politicians have to be balance it with being serious, engaged, embodying leadership, etc

hardly different from how it usually is

"if given the chance they'll appoint Supreme Court justices who won't outlaw abortion" is the kind of argument you're usually reduced to

I don't normally agree with the thing about how we get the politicians we deserve... but that is exactly what is happening here.

Barret appointed as expected anyway...
“Republicans do this because they don’t believe Dems have the stones to play hardball like they do,” said representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York. “And for a long time they’ve been correct. But do not let them bully the public into thinking their bulldozing is normal but a response isn’t. There is a legal process for expansion”
I think she's right... if Dems win the presidency, the house and the senate then they should do everything they can to advantage themselves in every field - stack the court, impeach Kavenaugh, prosecute Trump... fuck it, gerrymander the regions... make it illegal to vote Republican, at this point I don't care.

Random guy from twitter but I agree...
I think Republicans know that they’ve forced a Democratic trifecta to expand the court. They’re gambling that the stolen Court will help prevent a trifecta and entrench minority rule.
In short the Rs know the Dems are already justified in giving them the hardest possible fucking with what they win in the election and so they are gonna gamble everything to limit those wins, rather than play nice and hope for mercy.
Might as well be hanged for a sheep as for a lamb in other words.
