Personally I'd reserve the death penalty for people involved in commissioning or administering genocide. But even with that you'd need some kind of international court that had its shit together.
there are very sad cases of people being abducted as child, turned into child soldiers and later on massacring other people. this is not to excuse these acts of crimes but it makes it more complicated i think. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dominic_Ongwen

True, but there are probably plenty of other cases where someone had a perfectly comfortable, normal life and just turned out to be a massive wrong 'un anyway.

signs are that Norm Eisner is going to end up well established as one of those names. Like what Adam Curtis did for Edward Bernays
(im interested in the naRRtive and how it gets established im obviously not endorsing revolver)

Prosecutors in Fulton County have initiated a criminal investigation into former President Donald J. Trump’s attempts to overturn Georgia’s election results, including a phone call he made to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger in which Mr. Trump pressured him to “find” enough votes to help him reverse his loss.

On Wednesday, the recently elected Democratic prosecutor in Fulton County sent a letter to numerous officials in state government, including Mr. Raffensperger, requesting that they preserve documents related to Mr. Trump’s call, according to a state official with knowledge of the letter. The letter explicitly stated that the request was part of a criminal investigation, said the official, who insisted on anonymity to discuss internal matters.

No "respectable" media want to say "the FBI was running the Proud Boys," because that would call into question how much of the domestic far right was a fed or deep state project, and how they've used it to, say, scare us back toward the center-right mainstream with Certain Events

The FBI designated them an extremist group with ties to white nationalism for about three months then suddenly claimed it was a mistake a week before an FBI informant became chairman of the organisation...

Another one.
WASHINGTON (AP) — A man who authorities say is a leader of the far-right Oath Keepers militia group and helped to organize a ring of other extremists and led them in the attack last month at the U.S. Capitol has held a top-secret security clearance for decades and previously worked for the FBI, his attorney said Monday.

Thomas Caldwell, who authorities believe holds a leadership role in the extremist group, worked as a section chief for the FBI from 2009 to 2010 after retiring from the Navy, his lawyer, Thomas Plofchan, wrote in a motion urging the judge to release him from jail while he awaits trial.

The defense said Caldwell, who has denied being part of the Oath Keepers, has held a top-secret security clearance since 1979, which required multiple special background investigations, according to Plofchan. Caldwell also ran a consulting firm that did classified work for the U.S. government, the lawyer said.

If nothing else, it raises questions about the genuine aims of these groups, any events they've organised and law enforcement's handling of them.

I wonder if some of the less reality-based members of the far right will take this to mean that the FBI is in cahoots with Antifa, or that one is a front for the other?
