gonna take a stance and say it skeeves me out how you guys will sometimes talk about your youngers as an anthropological object of fascination and not people you talk to everyday, on the computer
Yeah these guys are right. I'd prefer if yall didn't make comments/jokes like that. Like ik guys my age aren't that common around here and you guys were just taking the piss and making jokes, but yea, that wasn't kosher. And like @version just said this is a public forum, I mean, someone could def take that the wrong way and report it to people. People have gotten in trouble for milder shit in the past. Especially seeing how luka's staff.if someone had said this to me when i'd just joined a new internet community at age 17 i'd almost certainly have deleted my account and never returned.
Yeah I know, I'm just saying others may not be as receptive to it. Not a good look, is all. It's a joke but it's still creepy.much of it is banter, don't take it personally.
Oh yea I have some friends on a couple of Discords I'm on who are about your age, and they've said things to the similar in trying to catch up. Even for me, now that I'm on the latter half of my teen years, I lose sight on some things. Though probably a large part of that is b/c I don't really watch popular YTbers or listen to classic zoomer music. I'm no "I live in the wrong generation1!1!!!" type of asshole, but I def feel a disconnect from the current waves in pop culture and I have to put in an effort to stay updated. Like honestly even when I was in middle school the only way I was connected with popular media was through the car radio in my mom's car, which was always tuned into the pop music station. Now that she has a new one that has bluetooth music options I can just say in my musical bubble.i wasn't even talking about -those comments in specific- just a general attitude people here can cop
for what it's worth i'm 22 but i'm not a zoomer. i find it harder to relate to new developments in internet culture/internet music each passing year, i'm having to make a concerted effort. it's weird.
i don't even mean 'popular culture',
i am talking about the underground
Haha. Well I'm pretty into Death Grips. Artists like Bedroom and Current Joys make more "ambient" type noise music, and does remind me of hauntology a fair bit. Particularly with Bedroom it does put you both in a very familiar place, but also one that's disconnected from any contemporary world.i am in my twenties and want breakcore loving teens to think i'm a genius. it's pathological
