Acts of Resistance

I would like to watch some Hitler speeches though, in the interest of comparing them to Stalin's speeches. Zizek makes the joke about how the former receives applause while the latter joins in the applause, as if applauding the party itself.

Haven't heard of Emmett Grogan, but that sounds totally plausible. You could probably get away with something like that in the US today, if it weren't for the internet.

Could be said to reveal how hollow/superficial the opposition to the Nazis can be, which is the more frightening thing to me: that people can replicate the developments of the Nazis while preserving the pretense that they are opposed to the Nazis. Could be a paranoid suspicion, but the example you give seems to exemplify it.

At history A level I remember doing an essay on Hitler which was about "intentionalism" vs "functionalism", like basically was it all his intention or did it happen cos everyone followed orders like eichmann said at the trial. Unfortunately I cannot remember my conclusion but I did get an A

I liked your definition of neoliberalism as capitalism reaching into our pants and private parts I thought that was truly brilliant

the invisible hand grabbing your pussy, the image of modern capital
and reaching back up through you as if you were a puppet, possessed by your own conjuring.

"A similar movement is going on before our own eyes. Modern bourgeois society with its relations of production, of exchange and of property, a society that has conjured up such gigantic means of production and of exchange, is like the sorcerer, who is no longer able to control the powers of the nether world whom he has called up by his spells."
