Why did you buy the third one? Was it in a box set you found in a charity shop, so you had no choice if you wanted the other two?

i bought terminator 1, 2 & 3 today.
How many are there now? Too many.
Saw T2 again not too long ago - the first half is still great but it does go off the boil a bit by the end. Once they get away for a bit from the liquid metal guy and start thinking and stuff the tension dissipates a lot.

There are six, iirc. One's a reboot that was ignored by the following film though. You've got the first one, Judgement Day, Rise of the Machines, Salvation, Genesys - think it's spelled that way, some stupid stylised title - and the latest, Dark Fate, where Linda Hamilton came back. There was also a TV series.

Yeah, that's the one. I haven't seen the whole thing, but what I have seen is shit. The only good ones are The Terminator and T2.

They were so good and successful a million sequels were inevitable.
Has there ever been such a thing where they went "that is perfect as it is, let's leave it like that"? I'm sure there has but rarer and rarer these days.

reflexivity in cinema. no more grand eighties narratives of arnie as ultimate power. now he is in another branch of showbusiness known as politics and the terminator is too tasteful for elton john eyewear. he crushes the fashion frame just as the clued-up viewer would do if we were the terminators of today.
