Are You Shy?

tricky tho bc a lot of the answers were really "it depends". like re introvert / extrovert scale, I like social situations and go a bit mad if I spend too much time on my own, but I also go a bit mad if I don't spend enough time on my own
There's a 17th category, that they don't talk about much and is usually omitted in the literature, which is people who answer everything with "well it depends".

ppl at work are always complaining about this. I usually just stop talking and stare into space until they get bored and go away

In many ways, Defenders are the backbone of the modern workforce. Altruistic and well-rounded, no other personality type is so well-suited to be of service of others. It is no surprise that many Defenders are not just good at supporting their coworkers and customers in human resources and support positions, they genuinely enjoy it, as it gives them the chance to calm frustrations, see things through to a practical solution, and to be thanked, appreciated, at the close of each ordeal.

I find it difficult to work out how much in me is shyness and how much it's just not being that interested in most people.

I mean I like you lot, and I like my friends but most people aren't that interesting are they? So I can never quite tell the precise reason I don't want to talk to them that much

Exactly the sort of person you'd want near the very top of the Whitehall pyramid. As I said the other day, a safe pair of hands. Hand the country over to the civil servants. The politicians can't be trusted.
