Are You Shy?

Apparently I have the same personality type as Bill Gates, Kristen Stewart, Albert Einstein and Stanley Crouch.
I didn't realise you could click an arrow and see more. I also have the same personality type as Newton, Descartes, Ellen Page, Pascal, Varys from Game of Thrones, Neo from The Matrix and Bruce Banner.

In many ways, Defenders are the backbone of the modern workforce. Altruistic and well-rounded, no other personality type is so well-suited to be of service of others. It is no surprise that many Defenders are not just good at supporting their coworkers and customers in human resources and support positions, they genuinely enjoy it, as it gives them the chance to calm frustrations, see things through to a practical solution, and to be thanked, appreciated, at the close of each ordeal.
The ideal dogsbody, you might say.

I realised a few years ago that I didn't really care if most people didn't really like me. Like, I dont really like most people so why should I hope that they like me?

That was really life changing and liberating for me.

Obviously I care if my friends like me, I'm not a psycho, but not that bothered about anyone else.

It used to really worry me when you'd meet someone and you'd instantly get a weird vibe off them, this undercurrent of them not liking you from the instant they met you. But now, nah.

The more I read of this stuff, the more I'm begrudgingly thinking there's something to it...
These types may be found stockpiling books, questioning teachers, spurring debates, or driving conversations in forums across the Internet.

Isn't shyness/confidence just as arbitrary as happiness/sadness? Anyone who identifies as permanently happy/confident is probably an annoying wanker or lobotomised. I had a brilliant week the first time I went to New Orleans, hanging out with an all-girl ska band and funning around with the locals, with everyone gabbing off and having fun. Then flew back to London, went to a noise gig on my own, and couldn't spark a conversation with any fucker there - not even the bar staff. Got a taxi back home, feeling like a leper.

Whoever said "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than open your mouth and remove all doubt!" was a cunt. Listen to the utter horseshit most people spout - you've every right to join in.

Yeah it seems something like serotonin, as an example of chemical antecedent of the psychic, can operate much more robustly if if tempered by some kind of inhibitory mechanism, which I'm pretty sure is the case. (edit: but I haven't properly looked into it yet)

Sort of like having two chances in bocce ball to hit the mark, inside of just one. Or, rather, having this inhibitory mechanism grants the ability of a second, backward throw if the first forward throw was excessive. Even all the players have this ability, the game gets significantly more precise. Millimeter bocce.

For the record, I don't think I've ever played bocce ball.

I was going to self-diagnose here but I looked through the thread and I already said what I was going to say.

Re: the INFP thing, I've done that test before and I was INFP

I'd like everyone on here to do the OCEAN test sometime
