You didn’t need this documentary to go after the tech companies. The fact they don’t pay tax is enough surely. So to make public opinion push back on social media when like I said before it’s the voice of the unheard. It’s got me thinking. What’s the endgame here?

Thinking face

How we are tweaked and pinched and pulled and shaped by the responses we receive and by the responses we anticipate receiving. Locked into these teaching machines, something within us very, very alert to praise and scolding

what is this collective nervous system and where is it leading us? this matrix. stan's algorithmic god. vimothy think's it's blind. luka wants to seize the controls

i think awareness of the process as it's happening is the important thing as opposed to submission to the process, so acheiving a meta perpespective on it, this is hard to do in any sustained way as our consciousness level dips below the necessary threshold constantly

this is why i said maybe music was a deconditioning program in the same way you can look at this stuff as a deconditioning program. does that make sense?

i dont usually have the energy or patience to parse Stan's posts, maybe he is saying this too but often it feels more like he's preaching submission to the process rather than becoming aware of it and resisting it at the points you think resistance is righteous

but then again i think Stan is basically on the same page as us. i just wish he'd learn to write in english so we could understand him better.

why decondition? I could see pop music as a conditioning programme, in the sense of a finely tuned formula evolving to evoke emotional reponses...to sell more pop through certain sounds, faces, ideas

i think hes saying how can we harness these processes for consciousness raising, basically. and i would say the answer to that would be to inculate this meta level awareness of the process itself in operation, to actually feel the tug of it, response by response, and the different directions those responses tug you in, what is encouraged and reinforced and what is punished.

in the way that every conditioning machine pushed to its extreme becomes a deconditioning machine. beacuse you eventually see how it is operating.

I think that's what he's saying too. Basically it's this level of manipulation is here to stay, how do we use it for benevolent ends. that wa the feeling after the last election too, how do we defend against this combination of high tech and low dirty tricks? do we have to operate the same tools?

i think that's where stan's heart lies, too many caveats though, he's very careful, if he could just pick a position and be a cunt about it maybe we'd understand him but what if he goes full fascist? real danger here

as if there was a tipping point at which you have enough information to achieve the meta position.
