is that vyner st on the 15th
yes - the victory pub. I used to go there a few times and helped organise a little street festival there around 2004-08 (Ruff Squad once played!). Still sort of a cab drivers' boozer

The pristine recording of last night’s Stitch (and I’m pleased with the look of this patchwork) a varied Jamaican segment, some current footwork, ama, drill, and some brilliance from Zambia, Angola, Columbia and Senegal.AB6291BC-BE6B-4B63-B800-A1A5D12278F3.jpeg

Thanks for tuning in @sufi !
Here’s the listen back - has lots of plucky guitars (RIP Michael Chapman), Angolan troubadours, Peruvian experimentation, new Jazz, Libyan night fever, reggaeton and other slow chugging dance beats, autochoons, Carti, Sixx and Skip Spence and more footwork

I’m getting lazy with finding two hours of newish music each week - so I’m starting some guest mixes - starting with tomorrow night and Blue Tapes - lots more pencilled like Carl Stone, Bok Bok and @luka - give me shout if interested in doing one (I’m trying hard to avoid it being all men and perhaps this isn’t the place to avoid that)

Last nights’ show with Mart Atkins guesting with a tidy selection of tracks - many from his MRM label (et al). Lots of other storming’ tunes on the show including by Westside Gunn, Boulders James, Injury Reserve, Alkaline, Tizrah, Ike Yard and R&L Thompson.

Had this on in the car yesterday, that early run up to Dr octagon was very good and just what I wanted to hear. I would like to hear your voice slightly higher in the mix, it's too much of a whisper!

Cheers! - I have to put *some* shackles on my big booming voice (nah, but has been said before - will turn it up a notch!)

It's often the case with a lot of current radio shows, I notice the same thing with idle richs shows, also on nts a bit. The djs are saying something interesting but it's so los in the mix, you miss it!

Unlikely to be the case (re: saying something interesting) with me - but yes, I also notice this with others

last night’s Stitch - great to have Dollar Pickle involved with with guest mix and interview - bringing us “culchie surrealism” from North Kerry (Eire).

Also some reconnected grime royalty, Tanzanian singeli, Martin Rev impersonations, Brasiliere pop, Cameroonian garage fuck, Hillfields Ama, Theo of this parish and drifting abstract travails
