Diogenes made a habit and virtue of telling everyone they were full of shit

he was like the anti-humblebrag to Socrates/Plato's humblebrag philosophy

we live in a humblebrag world, idk if it has space for a Diogenes

We were joking about Joe Rogan earlier, but he's a high profile example of this stuff at work. There's a dedicated subreddit specifically for his podcast with over 500,000 subscribers. And it's a little hub for all their interests. They post about cannabis legalisation, politics etc. It's its own little ecosystem, but it all revolves around Joe Rogan and his podcast.
Could this be a sort of development of theism? Rather than God dying, God merely disintegrates into a cloud of sparks, that each nucleate and connect in their own divine way? Attracting ever more specific followings and fanbases? A tier of gods that reside much closer to the mundane, rather than a single, mile-high light.

The function that religions serve is met in both ways: either having a transcendent, higher/higher-dimensional god that serves as a center, the trunk of the tree; or a vast cloud of monad-like "crumbs" of the divine, dispersed and differentiated.

The latter may arise from the former in the following way: By "dividing" the divine into ever finer islands, the perspective of the divine is also fragmented.

The divine now sees 50% as clearly, as if a second face formed on the head. And now there are two signals to reconcile, rather than merely dealing with one and not even engage in such reconciliatory practice. But this also allows for twice as much range, seeing as two engines - two subjectivities? - are active now rather than just one. Two farms in an increasingly federalized corporation. What about 7,818,600 farms? A psychic, trans-conscious federation? A physical one?

But we hold our conception of our self lower than the conception of God, whether or not we think we believe in such infinities, no? How could we we playing the same function? The primary advantage the many-minded has over the single-minded, is the dialectical combustion that ensues between its heads. The heads themselves, in the former, may as well be less advanced than in the latter.

So there is a certain conservation of divinity/energy/order along some hypothetical transition from single-large to many-small. The gross totals are the same, but the many-small builds up to something beyond the sum of its parts, while the single-large is the only part of its sum.

Arguably, this kind of trend may be detectible across cultures, in a sort of meta-narrative, but perhaps it can more cleanly observed, albeit at a lower order, within a given culture. How might the protestant reformation line up with something like this? What other movements, within what other cultures?

The kind of celebrity/spectacle-incarnate culture might have its own rendition of the play. If God is an opiate, and Dod is dead, and we're in the society of the Spectacle, what might that all say about the permutability of theos? The intensity is being divided, but the extensiveness growing. Instead of an orthodoxy, there is an ecosystem of doxa, perhaps with some kind of established hierarchies, perhaps not.

Frankenstein is about a Christian God, or perhaps something more mystical (as the chapters of the education of Victor Frankenstein seem to point to), creating biological life and immediately discovering that this was a catastrophic mistake. From there, this creating deity then abandons and forsakes all Life after realising that no true happiness can come to its creatures, and indulging them will only serve to corrupt the spiritual realm. As time goes on, this deity dies, leaving Life to suffer pointlessly without an enemy left to point its rage at, awaiting its own future extinguishment. The actual plot of the novel follows this pattern on the next level, with Victor Frankenstein representing the new Creator God, and his monster becoming the new form of Life that he immediately realises will corrupt his own world.

quaternary protein-folding login protocol of exobiologic star denies us, for the moment, access to the upper igneous layers of the wetware star’s cortical stratigraphy, all spinal pregain canceled out by low-shelf/hi-pass filters dialed in at a wide, low Q to sweep the whole plausible frequency range, keep out anything that can’t fit through the gasping smooth-muscle aperture of the limbic gate, a secondary mouth that breathes on behalf of your own speech-employed breath like hard compression on the sidechain, synchronized with delta-wave sleep ripped from vertebral wifi of your encephalograph star, so that you may speak only, if at all, in the pauses and troughs of dreaming, under as little influence from the dislocated night as any daylit speech finds possible now that “night” and “day” are almost totally abstractions divorced from any particular phase-space of sunlight, the cluttered nucleosome logic board of the ransomware-ridden DNA-computer star adjusted to clock whatever electrical activity in central pattern generators might suffice to sync up heartbeat and swallow reflex with the optical-track punchout on the public film-reel transcripts, less the light itself than the injuries the light inflicts, print-through hypogeum of gamma-knife star’s bone-cuneiform surgery extracted and used only for a running autocue, a metalanguage postproduced for dim congruity with genetic-engineering star’s HTML contagion, so

it’s back to further reaches of the skull and its nominal contents, though perhaps we’d better think of bone less as a container than as the final caul secreted by the brain its series-throughput convolutions, cascaded gain stages of wetware star feeding the preamp tubes in exponential line-level hypertrophy until they harden into bone and can be used, as calcium diode matrix, to approximate the total signal for the DI out, straight into the mixing board or, more likely, into the vario

of course i have yes but they looked to me like paragraphs of wordy neologism or recondite science terms that jump between contexts in a fairly facile manner, not unlike a lot of dissensus threads. that was the first link, hosted by another top modern poet, who also posts his own poems which were every bit as bad as that bloke @suspendedreason said was the greatest living

also it sounds nerdy which is always offputting. i dont think you can really be nerdy as a poet. doesnt fit.

I'd say so, so long as the poetic ruptures are administered and sustained properly. But I can also see your point on the inverse, that what defines a nerd perhaps cannot be sustained within a Poet, seeing as they would more or less be a perpetual rupture.

edit: And the nerd would more or less be defined by some kind of compulsive systematization, perhaps?
