Yeah I'm about five ten just under, but in my mind I am taller than you and shorter than Gus. Which you assure me simply cannot be possible.
I say this not to belittle anyone, I really couldn't care less how tall someone is, you told me you are six foot or something then sure you're six foot, I've only met you a couple of times and they were ages ago, it was dark etc I'm just surprised to learn that Gus is shorter than me and I am misremembering something from a month or two back.
@suspended are you shorter than me? I really can't remember.

I'm 4'11" but I tell everyone I'm 5'.

Many do care though. I find it interesting how much some people care. I guess easy to say when you are of absolutely the most average height like me. There is a woman who is a lollipop lady for a playschool or something in central Lisbon and I see her quite often, one of the shortest I have ever seen in actual life. Almost Vern Troyer size, I can see that if you are built like that then it becomes an issue but for all kinds of different reasons, getting clothes that fit and a car you can drive etc

And in Europe can just use meters right? 6'0" as a fetish-point for the girlz is just an artifact of our formal measurement system. So if you're in the States and 5'11" maybe you fudge up for the cutoff, but not much point in meters is there

just under 6'2", towered over the locals when we were in Portugal. and I'm 100% Portuguese, but from the Azores. maybe we're a different breed.

my dad and his brothers were raised on a farm, pretty poor, and most of them are near or over 6'. we're the oddballs.

btw, short people are the only ones who say height doesn't matter. everyone knows it, but they're the ones who feel compelled to tell everyone.
