I've never been in anything called discourse. I will make sure I never am. No discourse for me. Thank you no discourse. Not into it.

Enjoying the sound of my own voice. The rhythms of discourse. Intoxicating. I don't understand your 30 year old man memes but I'm sure they're cute

I think this "liberatory lip-service" question is part of what makes Andrea Long Chu so compelling, that she's willing to stand outside of the conventions of the genre in some kind of symbolic way, and through a savvy routing of rhetoric hasn't been crushed for it yet.
Oh this almost ties perfectly in with what I just said in the "what are you reading thread" although actually the ambiguity exists in both languages (when written) come to think of it. Do you mean she's cunningly mapped a path through rhetoric, or do you mean that she has comprehensively chased it off the field?

im shaving, that's true. about twice a week, mostly on the chin. use a three-blade safety razor from a D2C razor business in Hartford CT, keep it next to my wide array of premium skincare products and an electric toothbrush built by a chinese mobile phone company. nail scissors by a washed-up designer who now makes soap that looks like rocks for kanye west.

I think she's pushed it back—it's unclear if it'll stay off the field but she came out strong enough that it's going to need to perform a rearguard action.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that those posts are not an accurate summing up of Luka's position, nor are they meant to be.

My question was simpler than that... literally, what is the word "routing" here is it from the word route or from the word rout?

Sorry, I'm derailing, it's just in the other thread I was talking (to myself) about how Americans say "route" to rhyme with about, whereas the English say it to rhyme with boot - and so if I had heard you say that sentence instead of seen you write it, I would have thought you were talking about a crushing victory rather than a strategic path. Not at all interesting - apologies - but it was fresh in my mind cos I'd just been writing that.
