there's a truth to it, that completely unenchanted grey nihilistic desirelessness. but what are you gonna do with it? you're in a body, you have to go on, and doing stuff can be really brilliant actually. other people can be really great sometimes too, proper good laugh.

Do the circumstances of your life affect how inspired you feel to write poetry?

Like for example the big psychic upheaval it must have been to move to Australia (that's where you lived isn't it?) - were you writing poems in praise of wallabies and backpacker murders?

I cherish this dream that one day I'll move someplace or I'll read something or whatever that makes everything 'click' and I'm filled with inspiration, I know my path, I become totally obsessed with it.

Instead of just sort of muddling along, sitting in a pit, checking my phone, having a wank, making plans for a holiday then not following it up, etc.

Doing loads of drugs can help although there's generally at least a year afterwards to pay it off. Sometimes much longer. Or you might end up permanently maimed. The best thing in life is writing. That's what makes everything else meaningful.

If you sit down at your desk and set the process in motion and really tune into the waves and lulls and little flurries and gusts of your own being

The walls have all closed in on everyone this year. How could they not. It could get worse before it gets better too. The question then is, how do you channel that? Creativity and flow states help. If your process is writing, get at it. Write it out, like a psychic exorcism. Play with what is expunged. I think anything else I could say would be unwelcome, but watch the old booze. It can undermine anyone’s creative streak.

Corpsey should be doing no nut november right now. he should be writing for us on dissensus big long posts and not nutting everyday. That's my recommendation.

Those eyes, you can feel yourself looking out of your own personal hell like that sometimes. Your eyes screaming silently like that. The sense of being trapped in your own self like Nebuchadnezzar there.
