any time I've tried to make music with other people it always descends into jokes and irony. Piano house covers of Joy Division. It's hard to let go and bare yourself in front of people in a room who you consider pals, harder than making some music and putting in your socials knowing that most people won't bother to actually listen to it, and that's why I feel more comfortable/confident working alone and taking feedback from people I trust than actually working with them.

It's quite complicated.

If you want to learn to make beats I recommend starting with the much simpler FL Studio (free demo mode available with no time limit)

Feel like there's another, older production thread knocking around here somewhere (@version ?) but couldn't find it so here will do. Haven't watched all of it yet, but here is the first of hopefully many Francois K hosted music production and industry chats. First guest, Carl Craig. They talk shop, inside baseball and how the sausage is made. Tuck in.

P.s. Hoping he gets into the 80s stuff ala @padraig (u.s.)'s post disco/proto house thread in a later episode 🤞
