Best rapper in the UK at the moment?

I've toyed with the idea of a kill corpsey thread. A few users, version, Matthew, Craner, have suggested it to me. A ritual killing. An annulment. And a sacrificially charged skeleton built into the very fabric of the forum lending it's magical energy to proceedings

Im uneasy with the idea but I acknowledge its power. An ever growing chorus of users urges me to endorse it

Maybe we could do a poll. As it stands I'm in the against camp but a lot of users are telling me this is mere sentimentality and snuffing out a life is our path to glory

I stand with corpsey. I’ve seen pictures of version, Matthew and craner and had luka in a headlock. Corpsey has little to worry about.

Not true! I guess it hinges on whether jack would be willing to lay down his life for us? The moral arithmetic changes if he's a willing victim

Let's snuff him out bro, like how Abrim Hirraff got snuffed. The only world power is gained thorough sacrifice and the blood rites

I dunno bro, seems like heavy shit. Are you sure you want to do this?

truthfully i think the unique quality of mc-led sets from grime generates occasional impromptu moments that far exceed the idea of tapes or albums etc but does that make me the rapper-enjoying equivalent of a free improv evangelistic cafe oto inhabitant the world only knows

i think Barty's idea that we didn't wholesale embrace autotune is kinda dated cause there's rappers here who have embraced it, its just the stuff i've heard from them doesn't sound that jarringly different than what Future or Chief Keef did in the last decade. The worst of that stuff sounds very close to what Drake's been putting out(and i think ignoring his unfortunate influence on the UK for better or worse is silly)

Autotune sounded like "the future" until it just stopped being so, no grand closing no single embarassing track that killed it off it just became part of the background and tbh at this point trap is entirely played out imo its tired

Doesn't matter how high their voices are you could make them eunuchs it ain't gonna happen unless you man wanna start cashing in your chips on guys like 645AR as the future

i can't man i can't at all they all strike me as like white dons who live comfortable rich lives and take shit loads of drugs but still say they're "depressed" or "sad"

I mean, anyone can suffer from depression. There's shitloads of music about being depressed in a massive house with loads of drugs and sexual partners. They def. use it as part of their branding though, so maybe it is cynical on their part.

I went to see yung lean supported by bladee when they played manchester a couple of years ago. I cant say im a massive fan, but it was a great gig. One of those where everyone there knew the words, in fact the levels of devotion and singing along, general vibes, was pretty astonishing. A lot of energy in the place. I prefer bladee, but lean was good. Very young crowd, looked like they needed it. A lot of people very wasted. Dunno if it was ‘depressed’ in the way i think of the word, with the system so loud it felt very bright and just quite emotional.
