Best rapper in the UK at the moment?

Listening to the Nines album. It's quite good but it's weird cos he's got quite an amateurish voice. The professionalism of the production really clashes with it. I guess that weird amateurish flow adds a feeling of authenticity. Like he's cool enough not to give a fuck about developing his chops.

There's just a vibe to the Nines album that no-one else has really got this year. I see what you mean in a way but I view it a bit different. Doesn't care. Very casual.

Too many people are trying so hard to rap, it's not appealing tbh

all that north west London stuff is terrible. Are you alone fam is the only good thing to have come out of that corner of the world.

I find it a bit dreary after a couple of songs. 'Trapper of the Year' was really good and I love this song by similarly comatose sounding Skrapz

Listened to rick rubin interviewing pharrell the other day and they're talking about 'beautiful' - pharrell says he was singing offkey in the chorus and rick rubin says that when someone sings offkey it sounds more hip-hop to him. pharrell says it adds this personality and charm to it.

Yeah that's a good shout tbh. I hate professional sounding records though the Potter payper tape is pretty clean I guess

Still can't believe he's from barking

Well the old locales are gentrified aren't they so the rappers will always seem to be from mad places now I guess

Still seems weird
