I know a Jamaican DJ who's had a local weekly radio show for about 20 years, he always laughs about how white music nerd dudes are the only ones who listen to heavy dub stuff. he plays pretty commercial reggae, says that's all he and all his friends In Brooklyn listen to.
what's this DJ's name would be up for checkin him out

it's funny seeing white people talk about 90s rap now who bemoan where rap has gone and talk like they were all listening to Midnight Marauders when that's far from the case

they were jamming alice in chains like the rest of them at the time

i never liked Zeze, annoys in the same way that don Alhan does they're both "urban" music representatives yet they both went private school (private primary school even in Zeze's case)

I listened to one it was like a dubby disco one expected it to be total shit but it was actually pretty lush. Big surprise. A lot of the worst music I've ever heard in my life has been by dissensus users

Not that I'm on the dancefloor thinking I'm in a minority all the time, well, i am middle eastern so some element of absolute minority is the default, but obviously looking back afterwards you do notice it.

Sorry that sounded like a leading question but just never really been to those parties so unsure of demographic.
