@shiels @craner the beauty comes through in SAW & II, but in certain b-sides too eg the flip to Windowlicker (drop the tempo too) and the including the answerphone birthday song from his folks (forget which release). The microblast beats have their fans, but I prefer it dialled back a bit

Assassin does it for me with The Orb

Music triggering flashback?
Eyyyy. Imma make this quick. Been about 6 weeks since last trip. 500ug. During trip. Was going great. Started listening to Shpongle, Brain in a Fish Tank. Put me into a deep dark place for quite a bit. Fucked the whole trip up. Recovered next day. Just a shit trip.
Anyways. Here I am. Just sitting here. Smoked a blunt. Took some dabs. Ordinary night for me. Started listening to Shpongle and the same song came on. Now I'm all wigged out. Feel weird. Got unease and super paranoid. Started feeling like I was falling into a blackhole (like you would on Lucy). Idk. I smoke alot of wax and bud and I'm never a paranoid person. I'm a 100% functional human stoned as fuck honestly. So doubt it's that....
So I suppose that counts as a flashback? Thoughts? Thanks guys

yeah. even his most abrasive stuff he'll give flashes of it

i love that he can contrast the playful or awestruck child with virtuosity. Its like that thing @mvuent said about transcendent shitposting, joyce weaving his love for arseholes through satire of the lit canon etc

Flying fish in the air. Was trying to save this for a 23.

Too many E’s at a night out last year Venus was any good. Get back to a mate’s. It’s not that the tune is the greatest (it should be), or that a certain compound was involved, it’s that your definitive encounter with it was in such a flash of pleasure that by replaying it you push through any sentiment back to a holographic imprint that feeling shaped in you. Flashback is too cinematic, it’s much deeper than nostalgia too. Those places, highs, whatever they are, are redolent with meaning and for me it’s

They are capable of extreme and disarming beauty. Usually takes around seven years to gestate through 406 gnargly brainmelt worm songs but it’s worth it when you get something like that or vletrmx

This is corny as fuck (& idc) but an old flatmate used to be obsessed with Human Traffic and would turn off all the lights and put this on as a very serious kind of ritual and I liked it.

Works much better if you don't look at or imagine John Simm and Danny Dyers' stupid faces when listening.

Anything but their earliest stuff really isn't for me, believe me I've tried, but I really like this one for the way it stretches time at the end. That's what makes it really trippy. Something like the middle section of this
