Ya hose first few hundred pages are exhausting. the book settles a bit after tchitcherine is introduced. The Zone section itself is a semi straight forward Homeric type odyssey If Im remembering correctly. And youre semi close to the Pokler story which I wont spoil but is something worth pushing towards

The Franz Pokler story is definitely one of the best (and saddest) bits.
