flip is comment sections from other platforms which aren’t war crimes - personal biographies, lost tapes, tracks sought, tracks unknown and identified occasionally, mix list completion attempts, who attended and when, bridging to surviving photos so thank the gods for Tash

My gf at the time bought a brilliant Dave Shakra tape at the first All Systems No, Marcus Garvey. Does anyone know where I can find a copy please?

Google 'gotropo djs' and have a look at DiY, Smokescreen etc - that seems to be the common thread.

@Chris - Hey, I've done a little bit of digging. Maybe 'Digs & Whoosh'? http://www.leftlion.co.uk/articles.cfm/title/diy-soundsystem/id/6881I've no clue other than googling 'go tropo' and seeing what turns up... like that ^

the mix of nite life is called the "Sound factory bar mix" by armand van heldon on nervous... i never could find it because people would neglect to add this track in sampels about this record and theres another mix named almost the ame as the "sound factory mix" so people assumed they were the same i suppose.. another fail by the marketers + labels of house music.. giving records the same appearance + and generic names... promoting confusion in locating + Tracking down these mixes..

it was sent to me by a girl from leeds.. i have no idea what her name is now... i was trading mixtapes with people for the first few years the first website i ever made was all about tapes and coordinating tape trades with people from different areas of the world.

Hi Chris, no idea where to find this version of Night Life... from the bit of reading that I've done around the deep house sound sound systems a lot of the DJ's were producing their tracks and remixes so wouldn't be surprised if it was something custom. I got this from a girl at Lincoln Art College - can't remember her name, but she had short blonde hair and was into the party scene...

you gotta burn this to a cd and play it on your dreamcast to get the full vibe

There's something potent about the Dreamcast. The name alone has magic to it. The failed promise only emphasizes the dream.

This is a YouTube subgenre now. There are a bunch of ambient jungle mixes set to clips from old games.

We still talk about it a lot on here too, to be fair. Although we tend to just post the tunes and talk about them rather than going over and over the official narrative. It's kind of England's '68 for a certain demographic. The mythical moment where something seemed to be happening then fizzled out. Fated to be endlessly dug up and dissected.

the absolute most arch hipster coffee shop in the city, little canal, was playing the spice girls the other morning, specifically 'say you'll be there'. i don't think it was ironic. loads of places like that are playing 90s pop at the moment. i was in a bar on 14th the other day and they were playing all that kind of thing, my favourite game by....whoever it was, the cardigans...i guess the time has come
