Yuh need to enlarge Yuh breugels to enjoy properly, loads of details that aren't showing on this little tablet screen, trying to keep off the laptop during daylight..
Gonna head out for a walk in the alotment with eyes shut and try and reach breugelia

I'm back from a long walk on a wrinkly part of the downs. Gunfire from pheasant shooters echoed through the valleys, our dog ducking in and out of the brambles, witch's butter, moss and lichen festooning the hawthorns. Hope it snows.

I walked through blackheath and lewisham and also visited Asda. Didn't feel wintry. The sun was out and sky was blue. Getting some nice colours in the sky now as the sun starts going down.

the breughels are the best by far in this thread. the first one is so twee it's a poster not a painting. the second one i don't really see how it's winter, it's some rocks. that impressionist one is good too.

Never occurred to me before that one of the appealing things about that Brueghel is that the hunters entering stage left are (I think) arriving home, down into the safety of the valley, the potential warmth of the buildings. That's a very potent, comforting feeling in winter - arriving home to the warm hearth.
