Insomnia

Was woken at 6:30 am by the failing boiler chuffing and banging like a cunt. However, that reverse causality dream thing happened, in which all of the prior dream is experienced more vividly while you're dreaming it because you wake up afterwards. That's almost as strange as consciousness itself, to my mind.

I've been taking a new magnesium glycinate/threonate/taurate formula and my dreams have become superbly lucid. It also helps with getting off to sleep, and staying there, notwithstanding boiler pyrotechnics.

a routine i really like but which is quite difficult to maintain is to go to bed at 10 and get up at 6am leaving less evening for getting drunk and plenty of morning time for writing or whatever. i'm working on getting into that at the moment.

This has been my sleep pattern for about 3 years now, though its more like a 5:45 wake-up and then out on the motorway from 6:15 or so

I find that you can sometimes feel like a great success with it, especially when you're working and no-one else is about, knowing you can knock off at 3 etc

But then the moment you snap out of it, it's so difficult to get back into it, and drinking during the week is out the window as well

Trying to get back into it after the debauchery of the first lockdown was absolute hell, thank fuck the roads were so empty though

Just reading backwards through the thread. Nothing worse than that period of thc abuse where dreams are naught but a distant memory and sleep is just a temporary respite

Very hard to regulate. As WYH has said before on here never in the mornings. Easy to say that of course, harder in practice.

Im sure we have all had hallucinatory experiences wherein we feel at one with nature and tuned into the relevant surroundings - once in the woods i felt deeply attuned with the trees and whatnot

On this basis does a plant living in a loft getting blasted with artificial light seem like a zen environment for a plant to grow? Some poorly attended plants are like drinking skol super

Also doing exercise in the day helps a lot - if I've done 10,000+ steps e.g. I will definitely sleep better.
My sleep has been a lot better since we got the dog, cos i'm out at least twice a day, rain or shine. plus he wakes us up at 6.30 every morning.

I would like a day off tho tbh.

You tossed a blanket from the bed,
You lay upon your back, and waited;
You dozed, and watched the night revealing
The thousand sordid images
Of which your soul was constituted;
They flickered against the ceiling.
And when all the world came back
And the light crept up between the shutters
And you heard the sparrows in the gutters,
You had such a vision of the street
As the street hardly understands;
Sitting along the bed’s edge, where
You curled the papers from your hair,
Or clasped the yellow soles of feet
In the palms of both soiled hands.

I have been using Volant Lavender for Insomnia.
Also, I like using wax melts.
I am really interested in Aromatherapy, I have a book somewhere,
Just haven`t used it much. I use my essential oils in my burners 🕯

Wedging down painkillers so Mrs Wash sourced valerian root

It worked. Ultra vivid dreams but got a solid 8 hours in. Can’t say I’ve felt this rested for a while

Not a route that can be too regular, yet to break an insomnia cycle? Absolutely

I have frequent sleep problems and this is usually related to work and weather. I thought for a long time how to overcome it and read a lot about it. I didn't learn anything new and therefore decided to apply some tips from the Internet. I stopped sitting on the phone an hour before bed and read a book instead. I am also relaxed by classical music and a hot bath. When I do all this and can not sleep, I take sleeping pills from Canada Drugs and then my problems disappear. Also, when I started exercising regularly, sleep problems decreased

I don't sleep more then 7 hours.

I usually eat dinner fairly early (6-7pm) At around 9:30pm I make myself a peppermint tea and put something on TV and just zone out and I go to bed around 11-11:30. This is usually enough for me to get to sleep.

If im feeling tense - I take a warm shower, do some meditation and breathing exercises.

I also make sure my bedroom is cool otherwise I wont sleep if its too hot.

Do you exercise much? I havent tried it but I read its best to do exercise in the mornings.

I suggest googling sleep hygine - theres some useful tips on there too.

Had a run of 8 hour kips on leave the likes of which may have been well before our last nipper was born

I feel floaty, in unfamiliar terrain, knowing it will only last a few more sleeps before the next wave of ltd sleep hygiene rolls in

2 more years and this should ease, 2 is doable, you can get back more of an overview, eg is drug work futile?

Insomnia followed by genuine rest gives your brain a huge flush, neurotoxins, REM sleep, no dreams of disturbing client experiences folding into surrealism, more places and people visited or known, when the dead come back for a drink and a fag and you catch up prob better suited to dreams they’re weird innit

I can't sleep well for months. I tried different pills and traditional methods, but nothing helped to beat insomnia. I couldn’t work properly or spend time with my family and friends. My doctor recommended some medicine. I hope, it'll work.
