It's a good comprehensive article, I think I do remember it getting posted here at some point but completely ignored it because I thought it would be about Diplo or something. Ive heard young new dancehall artists flirting with US rap in the past, people like masika , doing cyphers on rap beats etc, and it never worked. There's a really good synergy this time round.

That afropunk article was written by one of the guys out of equinoxx wasnt it? I do kind of like some bits of I've heard by them, have they done any stuff with any of the big name mcs?

Theres a thread for them. I think I checked them out back then and was impressed with the production but wondered how vocalists would ever ride those beats

Yep quite a lot, Jim screechie was equiknoxx for example.

None of the stuff they did that got popular and featured a lot of artists was really weird in the way those compilations they put out were though. I quite liked this one but it all sounds a bit corny now.
