Pretty good tune, I posted it in here before, but quite surprised it's doing so well. Ominous signs of the Pa-Salieu-ification of trap dancehall? (to coin a bartyism/lukism)

I haven't heard anything really really good for the past few weeks apart from that foot tune

ah didn't realise it was a couple months old, I reckon a lot of it is people who are fans of Mura Masa too, think he has a decent following

latest marketing email from VP records must have been written by one of their accountants excited that they could have a worldwide hit on their hands

Music Video For Dancehall Anthem "Go Down Deh" Hits 100 Million Mark on YouTube
For Immediate Release
Monday July 25th, 2022 – Kingston, Jamaica
Another major landmark for arguably the biggest Dancehall/Reggae hit of the past year, the official music video for "Go Down Deh" (featuring Shaggy and Sean Paul) by Spice has surpassed the 100M mark on YouTube. The video, directed by Jay Will, was released on May 1, 2021, and quickly became the fastest-growing music video for Spice. No small feat for an artist who has racked up nearly 670M channel views and 2M followers on her popular Spice Official channel on the platform.
The song was written by Grace Hamilton, Orville Burrell, Sean Paul Henriques, Dimitrui Silivu Aurelian, Shane Hoosong, and Constantin "Costi" Ionita and produced by Ionita for Spice's GRAMMY-Nominated album "10," released August 6, 2021, through VP Records. The audio single was released April 30, 2021, charting in many of the major streaming markets. The song got a major spike in December of 2021 when members of the BTS Army fandom adopted the sound on the TikTok and YouTube shorts platforms. This kicked off a global wave for the song which has garnered impressive growth, with a 300% increase in monthly listeners and streams on Spice's Spotify profile and on TikTok followers and engagement are up 200%. In the first half of 2022 the song has charted on Spotify and Shazam in markets as diverse as India, Bangladesh, Turkey, United Aram Emirates (UAE), Romania, Poland, and Kenya, among others, all adding to more than 3.2 billion streams from UGC (user-generated content).

I'm not sure this was really intended for the general public because the email ends with a list of contacts for label people responsible for various "territories" and their job titles, names, and email addresses

Depends how you define "past few weeks" - could point to other recent good tunes - but I liked Intence and Iwaata on New Moves Riddim.

That's a great tune

Not sure what I make of Shenseea & Skillibeng "Rain"

On balance, a bit of a mess (and truncated at that) but I'll admit it's not what I was expecting from the billing

Not sure if people saw, but EleganceGad was shot and killed last week. In addition to the human tragedy, a real loss in terms of someone pushing the autotune weirdness more than most. Been listening to this track that dropped a week or two ago a lot the last couple days.

His management team posted a weird statement on his IG that was written like him talking from beyond the grave, but was still signed by them. Anyway, it said they're going to keep releasing music that hadn't dropped yet.

hahahaha i can't with this one. instrumental is insane but that opening "rain rain go away" line is not acceptable 🤣

boring if you like your music to sound like a west end stage musical and not like a proper tune yeah
