not me, i stand there with my hands behind my back, occasionally walking closer to the canvas and peering intently at some obscure corner

and sure i don't know what i'm looking at but hopefully some of those art gallery girls are watching and thinking

'this guy fucks'
I'm going to talk to one one day

Corpsey

bandz ahoy
It's funny how you can fancy someone more based on where you see them -- well, maybe not, but it's easy to project onto the gallery girl/s, oh imagine us going to see the new Lucien Freud exhibition together, laughing about Wittgenstein, shagging to Bartok

that's why i want to talk to one. demystification. although now that i think about it i am mates with a girl who used to do this. i went to galleries with her. actually one thing i noticed is that she definitely got something out of the art, but she approached it did seem to be moderately aloof. i guess that comes with having seen it all before.

on fancying people based on where you see them - it's one of the glorious things about being alive isn't it.

americans seem to have and use the term 'art hoe' and i've never totally understood what it means or why it's acceptable to use it

Well, I wouldn't go quite that far - I haven't bothered to listen to any more drill since that one night I checked out Corpsey's playlist.

Barty's borred of trap dancehall too I think, and it's true, it's pretty much ran its course by now - 2-3 years of excellence isn't a bad run. Still plenty of good tunes obviously but the excitements gone.

The last guy I got really, really excited about was Skeng (who I discovered btw) but no-one since then really.

Having said that, I spent a night catching up on it a couple of weeks ago, and got the impression there's been a slowdown in the number of tunes coming out over the last few months.
One thing that's marked the last couple of years has been the sheer quantity of stuff churned out - Skillibeng being the prime example - and that seems to me to have slowed up a bit recently.

too much schmaltz. sounds saccharine vs corpsey drill especially
Yeah, I mean it never really went away, but aside from the odd exception the piano schmaltz is awful and it's got so dominant to the point where you have to wade through it to find the good stuff. I was prepared to do that a while back but I haven't got the energy now.
