Yeah I got into dance music via pendulum/bad company. I believe at the time I was in halls of residence with an optical illusion poster and a snoop doggy dogg poster on my walls.

Joker sampling dubstep is closer in spirit to what 'the future' has actually turned out to be like than Blade Runner jungle.

It's trashy, memey, tasteless, shallow.

Sidebar: the super low frequency "BWWWWAMP" sounds you now get in every trailer were (I think) first popularised by Hans Zimmer's Dark Knight score. Maybe wrong about that but I definitely feel there's a connection there.

I have to stop talking literally now cos I'm going to get in trouble at work otherwise.

I'm glad this conversation has been opened except that I hate Joker/Joker energy and dubstep that samples Joker.
Jack went back to work for exactly 20 minutes

It is funny in retrospect how drum n bass went from very po-faced techstep to "clownstep". And it makes sense, too.

First heard this at the Art School on a drum n bass night in Glasgow, think it was Optical djing. DnB was never big in Glasgow, but the place went fucking mental went this came on. 400 white Scottish people trying to dance to DnB. Was like watching Stephen Hawking trying to lapdance.

I have never seen a drum & bass track get a reaction like this track did, and I have seen a LOT of DnB tracks GO OFF in a LOT of RAVES. You name it – from the dirtiest Dillinja to the nastiest Noisia – none can compare to when this first came out, people were losing their fucking minds. It ruined raves and buried the floor.
