Super hi-fi tunes

The sort of thing geeky audiophiles test their equipment with. Give me some suggestions any genre, I've just got some nice new headphones.

i read some article where the journalist was blown away by a "serious" audiophile playing him david bowie but i'd probably go for some frank bretscheider or something, pure tones with frequency range and german mastering. i am far from an audiophile though.

makes sense, but you'd also want to test them with acoustic string and wind instruments. acoustic guitars, cellos, oboes.

also makes sense but have no idea what the best "orchestral" recordings might be. deutsche grammofon? van dyke parks?

When I first got those headphones I realised they were worth it when I listened to a Robert hood track off his latest album

Think it might be this one

I remember when my older brother first got a hi-fi he got a free CD with some racing car sound effect that would pan around the room, felt really futuristic and amazing at the time, I'd dive to the floor when it went past.

wonder if truly geeky audiophiles would accept wireless speakers or headphones? don't they swear by tube amps and monster cables?

One thing I've noticed about these headphones is I can hear stuff in familiar tracks that I've never noticed before. Similar in that way to when I used to listen to stuff on my (fairly cheap) monitors.
