I did buy some books that are set in Turkey, and I've read some Orhan Pamuk. Do you know how hard it is to find good books set in Georgia though? Quite hard apparently. Anyone got any tips? The sort of thing in which Tbilisi is a character?

I guess Armenia is mountain country... Georgia I don't even know to be honest... I imagine there must be some windswept steppe in some of those countries somewhere. I guess I'm thinking of Paradjanov films, magical eastern sounding instruments and poetry on the aforementioned steppe.

England has hideous estates and lovely villages, it has illiterate racists and beautiful authors. There's fifty million people, it's hard to sum it up in one sentence. I certainly don't hate the place but there is lots to hate and lots to love too I think.
