This is a good account, also imagine getting this at a footy match. The UK stuff they post looks like shit half the time.

heard this on a podcast thought it was a good summary

"Twitter looks like short strings of text, but in fact it is mostly relational information - who follows who, who interacts with who. It is a vibe engineering machine, where small communities send vibes to particular signifiers. Vibe warfare. The aim is to give as much negative association as possible to the things you don't like."
this is why they need a guild system. formalize the warfare, get people to reign in their weaker soldiers, form party establishments, operate at a level higher than the individual.

Anyone bothered with this competitor Zuck's released?
I’m curious if it’s technologically much different than Twitter, EG if it uses some kind of decentralized and/or self-sovereign architecture like Mastodon. There are some efforts among web3 social media platforms to this effect, but they’re all still way too complex for most people.

No, but I don't do twitter either. Already more that 30 million signups in a day, not too shabby.

It's the narcissistic Twitter "big reveal", a variation on "Personal news:"

That's one aspect of it. The tone itself is this grating mix of sanctimony and passive-aggression. Everyone sounds like a character from Mean Girls.

Like the time THE SECRET TORY published that book of insider Westminster goss that was so explosive it was going to destroy the Tory party for all time, which consequently no longer exists?
