One annoying phrase I'm seeing a lot:

A year ago I quit ( my job / smoking / drinking / eating / some other boring shit )

I found myself suddenly suspended on twitter. It said I used hate speech.... this was the offending tweet which I had produced in response to some question about which Tory ministers had got away with crimes or whatever with virtually no punishment

And of course Jeremy Hunt Culture Secretary (careful there) who seemed to suffer no real consequences when he was caught texting Murdoch Jr on how best to slime his way round the anti-monopoly laws he was supposed to be enforcing. What a cunt!

Was kinda weird cos that was a very tame tweet as far as I can see. Also, it said "do not try to evade this by creating other accounts etc or we will make it a permanent ban" but the small print said the ban was indefinite anyway which is pretty much the same in my book. Anyway, I waited a few days to see if anything would happen and then I messaged them an appeal saying that the tweet for which i was banned was a mixture of the undeniably true and the clearly tongue in cheek, they replied saying they would take a few days to check it and then....

A strange and rather pointless episode as far as I can see. Not sure what triggered it.

There's one around football that really pisses me off where one eyed fans of (INSERT CLUB BUT MORE LIKELY PLAYER HERE) compare their fave to another amazing player and say there's no competition. They use phrases like "My striker is clear" and "There are levels to this game" or similar. It's most acute around Messi and Ronaldo/ Barca and Madrid but can cover other stuff too. From what I can gather, it's not Spaniards or Catalans obsessing over these guys either

Eg Iniesta is trending at the moment purely because Modric scored a belter last night against Scotland https://twitter.com/search?q=iniesta&src=typed_query

Funny to see people pinning archives of their very long threads to the top of their profiles after Twitter etc killed blogging. Now, instead of a single blog post, you have the thing broken up over a string of tens of tweets.

I really want try

I had some friends that liked to rock climb and would play this game were they put on a harness and threw the rope around the limb of a very high tree and stack/climb box crates in a single width tower as tall as they could manage.

I went on a psychotic field trip in middle school at this boot camp style recreation park where they made the students all climb this 40 foot pole, get both feet directly on top of it (was about the diameter smallish sewer grate), and then jump off before the harness caught in front of the entirety of your peers. Worst of all is that it probably did instill in me some positive personal growth.
