Video games

I like point and click adventure games but not many get made. A few do... I've played Technobabylon, Gemini Rue, Thimbleweed Park and maybe a couple of others. But I'm still waiting for the next Broken Sword instalment. Those games I've listed take me back to the days of Beneath a Steel Sky. Anyone else like those kind of games?

I've got a playstation 4 but don't get into the games that much. Tried Detroit: Become Human and didn't get into it. I think the last game I completed was L.A. Noire and the game I play most is Hustle Kings snooker.

Always preferred immersive adventure games to multiplayer type games.

Sorry I did search but only found a couple of threads. Point and click games are a niche market it seems these days. Give me Monkey Island or Broken Sword over a lot of novels, or at least comparable to Choose Your Own Adventure ones.

I might get into a few strategy games. Used to love Utopia as a kid.

I keep thinking I should load up some RTS games, used to spend hours in Age of Empires as a kid just building a massive base. Don't think I've got the patience for it any more.

Not something that really gets made any more.

Used to love Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2... these days I'm glad that I don't have a PS or whatever cos I find so many ways to waste time already... some of the games do look super cool though gotta admit.

Has anyone else ever spent so much time playing 1st-person games (shooters or otherwise) that they've found themselves having dreams that were apparently rendered in a particular game's graphics engine?

I distinctly remember having Doom dreams that gave way to Quake dreams, that were in turn superseded by Unreal and Half-Life dreams.

I was dreaming about video games last night actually.

When I occasionally play call of duty for six hours straight then try to go asleep I lie there for hours playing out scenarios in my head

The invention of 1st person games is one of the reasons I got out of gaming in time. I mean who'd want such a totally conservative approach? I've got plenty of first perspective in my life already! The same with 3D or VR, completely redundant technologies.

That's an interesting position, and one I totally disagree with. I love the immersion of 3D games. If I had a few thousand to spare I'd be all over Half-Life: Alyx.
