Texas Power Outage

I have to hand it to George Soros, never imagined he'd be able to attack the country's largest conservative state by funding the blizzard.

“Texans would be without electricity for longer than three days to keep the federal government out of their business,” Gov. Perry said, partly rhetorically. “Try not to let whatever the crisis of the day is take your eye off of having a resilient grid that keeps America safe personally, economically, and strategically.”

I have a friend who lost power for 3 days. Its turned back on now but they still don't have water. Another who had power but had the sink started inexplicably spewing water into the house and for whatever reason they couldn't turn off the water without turning off power as well. Also seen mobs of people outside closed grocery stores demanding to be let in.

Seen it

I ended up watching the Netflix original Set It Up, about two overworked and mistreated personal assistants who parent-trap their workaholic bosses in the hope that, once contentedly sexually active, their bosses will be nicer and stop abusing them. A beautiful film about the neoliberal economy.

Not seen it.
It's really terribly bad but also quite good. Netflix nihilism. You can tell it's been engineered to be "relatable" but also that the writer or director knows exactly how awful and petty and small all their characters are

And I'm reading that Texans are getting hit with huge leccy bills despite having no power... insult to injury.

You Brits really delight in your child's struggles. Bad look for Dad. They're supposed to be charitable and gracious as their son outpaces their own worldly achievements.
