Making a thread to keep track of what my peers are doing and collect my thoughts on it in an effort to fling myself out of negative thought loops re:'the scene'.

You are free to contribute likewise but I do ask that
1) Submissions be no older than 10 years old (that's pretty generous)
2) Posts be kept on topic
3) This isn't a space to relativise (ie 'there's nothing innovative about this [link to something 15+ years old]') or even really to abstractly speculate. Posts should be grounded in discussion of specific tunes, records, producers or -specific- collectives/labels/weblabels (I'm going to avoid generalising about microgenres myself)

Three short sampler beats from someone in another Discord server -

These have such a nice, unpretentious quality to them. No effects, no modulation, no tricks - simply pieces that showcase some interlocking grooves and the patina of their source material.

DieTrax has been active for a long time so they're not exactly a 'peer' but as far as I'm aware they're active now, I could contact them if I wanted and this track is less than a decade old (10 years is 5 in internet time).
I've been obsessing over this track since I heard it and I'd be amiss not to post it. The conceit is, again, pretty simple: gigantic, swampy, sub-bassy kick in 4 time, drum machine and breakbeat interplay wrapped around that kick, and a chopped sample from PS2 game ICO.
It was a surprise to hear something so pretty while going through DieTrax's music in trying to figure out this J-Core/Nerdcore Techno thing.
Again, it's no Xtal but it's worth interrupting your day for.

There's an emergent sonic theme in what I'm posting, and it's that pretty keys/vocals, sub bass and breakbeats is suuuch a hard recipe to fuck up.
This person deleted their stuff from Bandcamp but their most recent EP is on archive.org (embedded).

Looks like this is ‘versus’ the FFF I’m thinking of?

must be heard to be believed. continuous drum machine rolls and nightcored pop rap meets the avant teen vita contemplativa.

There's a lot more I could talk about with Buum by the way but I've gotta gather it together. Meantime,

I'm sure this has been posted here before and maybe even written about by one of youse but this is the distillation of what homie music is about. Cuts with elegiac auras.
